Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset Unveiled in India

Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset launched in India at the Grand Finale of Acer’s Predator League event in Bengaluru on Saturday. This headset is a blend of VR and AR technology.

Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset has been launched at the Grand Finale of its Predator league event in Bengaluru during the weekend. The Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset is by far India’s first which is blended with both the Virtual Reality technology and the Augmented Reality technology features. The price of this product for India has not been disclosed yet. However, in the US market, the starting price of this headset is $299 which is approximately 19,260 INR.

With the launch of Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset, the Taiwanese company – Acer has marked its territory on becoming the first ever manufacturer in India to launch a Mixed Reality Headset. This headset has various interesting features. It makes the users able for interacting with the software with the use of voice, gesture, and gaze. And, at the same time, also gives the option for using traditional inputs such as the keyboard and controllers. The Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset needs a Windows Mixed Reality ready computer which you will require to use the headset. This helps in installing the required software on a compatible computer on its own.

Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset Specifications

This Headset has 2 front-hinged 2.89-inch high-resolution LCD panels with 1440 x 1440 pixels resolution on each panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It gives a bespoke 95-degree field of view. All because of these high-end features, the display offers a wonderful Virtual Reality experience as claimed. The price of this headset starts at $299 of the base model and the upgraded variant is priced at $399 which is approximately 25,700 INR. This headset comes with a pair of wireless controllers as well. The Acer Mixed Reality Headset consists of a 13-foot cable. Talking about connectivity, it offers a USB 3.0 port and an HDMI 2.0 port.

The CMO and Consumer Business Head, Mr. Chandrahas Panigrahi said while commenting on the launch, “We are extremely thrilled to launch India’s first mixed reality headset in collaboration with Microsoft. By introducing the mixed reality headset, we aim to bring best of our innovations to Indian customers. The Acer Windows Mixed Reality headset offers a plethora of exciting and engaging content that is continually evolving.”

Mr. Satya Nadela, the CEO of Microsoft recently said in an event last month that the Mixed Reality is one of the three path-breaking technologies that are expected to shape the world in the coming years.
