Amazon has launched new and refreshed Fire tablets and Kindles. The mega online retailer also came up with a child-friendly version of the Fire HD Tablet. As it is a child-friendly version, there is more emphasis on having interesting and amusing icons on the mobile OS.
Amazon has come up with an entirely refreshed version of its popular tablet computer along with e-reader gadgets. The Kindle Fire HD Kids Edition has also been lunched in a bid to target the kids towards using the Kindle device. Both these e-readers are revised for better experience.
The two versions of the device will start shipping in the United Kingdom from the next month. And watch out for the latest Fire HDX. The device is going to give the iPad Air some tough competition and probably the run for their money. The Kindle Fire HD Kids Edition, however, will not have any UK edition at the moment.
The announcement of the introduction from Amazon brings to an end a phase of various stages of hardware releases. There was recently news about Amazon bringing the Fire TV, the Fire Phone and the TV streaming box to the United Kingdom to make their debut.
A few weeks back Amazon and Samsung had come together for ‘Kindle for Samsung’. This is the eBook service brought by the two mega companies.
Voyage is the latest Kindle e-reader. This is the upgrade to Kindle Paperwhite. Amazon claims the Paperwhite to be the thinnest e-reader at just 0.3 inches or 7.8mm.
The Voyage weighs about 180g and will become available from October 2, 2014. The cost of the device is £169. The basic Kindle version, which has a touchscreen, comes at a price tag of £59.
Amazon also came up with the Fire HDX tablet. The device with an 8.9 inch display is almost certain to give sleepless nights to Apple. Apple’s iPad Air may even have to face struggle as the Amazon device has one million more pixels on the screen. This makes it sharper quite easily. Moreover, it is lighter too. That should give it thumbs up on both counts.
