The camera of mobile phones has evolved over the past couple of years. The cameras which were once VGA have now turned in to dual cameras. The most common question asked by any user before purchasing a new smartphone is always, how good is the camera? The smartphone makers have also taken note of this trend resulting in more exceptional camera devices.
However, how do you determine which is a better camera? The megapixel is only one tiny little criterion. The more relevant aspects are the aperture size, lens, and optical image stabilization (OIS). If that sounds confusing, do not worry. Here is a list of the best camera phones in India.
Google Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL
The Pixel 2 does not feature a secondary camera, and yet it has made it in the list. The primary camera is only 12 MP with f/1.8 aperture, but it takes some breathtaking photos. The top-notch image quality can be attributed to the artificial intelligence and machine learning employed in the device. The range between the darkest and brightest point is phenomenal giving your shots a real depth.
Apple iPhone X
It is impossible to talk about the best camera phones and not include the iPhone in it. The latest offering from Apple, the iPhone X is packed with one of the best cameras. The 12 MP camera with f/1.8 aperture and OIS delivers crystal image quality. Thanks to the secondary telephoto sensor, the portrait shots are even better. The iPhone X also allows you to record 4K videos at 60 fps. The earlier versions of iPhone also deliver excellent camera performance,
Huawei P20 Pro
The Huawei P20 Pro comes with a triple camera to give you the best performance. There is one 40 MP telephoto sensor, a 20 MP monochrome sensor, and a third 8 MP image sensor for optical image stabilization. All three cameras are tuned by the German optics expert Leica. Huawei is making breakthroughs in AI which is evident in the image quality. The video quality is not as great as the images and may be different than the actual subject being shot.
Samsung Galaxy S9
The latest innovation of Galaxy S9 is the unique camera aperture which can shift between f/2.4 and f/1.5 depending on the light. There is an auto mode which will take care of this shift in aperture size. This feature is backed by a 12MP lens and OIS. There is an extra memory which will allow the device to take multiple shots and combine is together for an optimum result. The post-processing is on the lower side compared to the competition.
The HTC U11+ is packed with a 12 MP camera with f/1.7 aperture and OIS. The camera is capable of taking pictures with the colors appearing more natural. There is no portrait mode available. The 16MP selfie camera will take great selfies without the smoothed-outlook seen in many other handsets. You can also record 4K videos at 30 fps and 1080p videos at even 60 fps.
If you are looking for a camera for regular day to day use, any device on the list should do the trick.
