Bharti Airtel has some great news for all broadband users. Soon, they will get to enjoy internet surfing, at an alarming broadband speed of up to 100Mbps. Now, isn’t that exciting!
Bharti Airtel has been giving tough competition to other networks, this year. In order to establish its position in the telecom industry, it has been coming up with various offers for its customers. Just recently, it joined hands with Apple for a special offer. It made the latest iPhone 7 phones available to customers, at a down payment of Rs. 19,999. Now, it has geared up to wow its fans, again. This time, it has brought an amazing surprise for all Airtel Fixed Broadband users.
According to this latest offer, Airtel Fixed Line users will get to enjoy maximum Broadband Speed of up to 100Mbps. This is a big leap that Bharti Airtel has taken, from its original 16Mbps speed. And, it seems to be in the right direction, given the present internet usage by thousands of people in the country.
In order to attain the desired broadband speed of 100Mbps, Bharti Airtel will be using Vectorization technology. This technology is quite popular amongst several European countries. It involves the usage of V-fibre, which helps in increasing internet speed. Based on this technology, a modern device will be prepared that will be responsible for providing high-speed internet. Broadband users will be given the choice to upgrade their mobile and fixed lines, with the new deployment technology. Once they agree, they’ll just have to pay some extra bucks for the modern device. This will ensure them unlimited internet service for the next three months. But, there’s a condition. It will be applicable on the existing subscription plan, that the user has opted for.
Bharti Airtel has named this entire internet project as “Operation Leap”. The Director Of Operations at the company, Ajay Puri, claims that work on this project has already begun in Chennai. Soon, it will take the rest 87 cities under its wings, too. He is confident that the new technology will definitely guarantee, high-speed broadband service to all mobile and fixed telephone network users.
We can expect Airtel’s “Operation Leap” to see the light of success, in future. Wifi services have been in great demand for the past few years. Nowadays, they are preferred more than mobile data. Even the stats from last year tell the same story. A report from July 2014 – October 2015 by Ericsson Mobility, shows that mobile data users increased by 80%, while Wifi users grew by astonishing 164%. It was also found out that Wifi was cheaper than mobile data. Where the normal 2G/3G/4G mobile data cost around Rs 0.23/MB; Wi-Fi on the other hand, was available at just 2 paise/MB.
The shocking stats have made one thing clear; people rely on Wifi service, more than the mobile networks. High-speed internet is one of their biggest needs, these days. At this point, Bharti Airtel’s new scheme is just the thing for them. But, with competitors like Reliance Jio and Vodafone, who are striving towards the same agenda; we’ll have to see whether Airtel is able to maintain its position or not.
