HTC says that its BlinkFeed app will be available for other Android devices too and will not be keeping it restricted to the HTC One (M8) where it was introduced recently. Users will be able to install the app from the Google Play Store.
However, there is no mention of the release timeline for the app yet. Moreover, the Play Store listing still does not show it as compatible and the supported devices list is also missing.
The latest version of the BlinkFeed app was introduced in HTC One (M8) along with the Sense 6.0 user interface. It comes with a free-scrolling gesture with bigger images. It also has an option of removing the weather clock if it isn’t set on the home location.
The HTC came up with a statement in an announcement saying that after the popularity of BlinkFeed, the app will be available for other Android devices on Google Play Store. The Taiwanese company, however, didn’t speak about the availability of other sense-based apps that were added in the Google Play.
There is no doubt that once the app becomes available on the Google Play Store, it will give more exposure to HTC to spread their feature and expand their horizons. Moreover, the updates will also be offered as standalone apps to HTC Smartphones. BlinkFeed and local Sense apps were also updated by the company through system update roll-outs.
The size or the version of the app and other such details isn’t known as of now. However, the app permissions are listed, but the information is inadequate and does not point out at anything solid. Apart from the BlinkFeed, there are other apps from HTC that are on Google Play Store. Some of them are HTC Guide, HTC Service Pack and HTC Sense TV.
