DataWind communications has recently launched a basic model phablet named MoreGMax 3G6. The phablet is priced at an affordable value of Rs. 5,999. Furthermore, the company has partnered with Reliance Communications so that the MoreGMax 3G6 users can get free internet access for a period of one year.

The One-Year Free Limited Internet Offer

However, the free internet offer will be available under one condition. Users will be able to access the internet for free only with the UbiSurfer browser that comes pre-installed in MoreGMax 3G6. Hence, users who are willing to use other applications like Whatsapp, Facebook or other browsers should add a data pack to their phablet. Also, the free internet is only for browsing purposes. Users will not be able to download content or view video content via UbiSurfer.

Hardware and Software Specs

The DataWind MoreGMax 3G6 phablet sports an attractive 6-inch display, whose resolution is yet to be revealed. The phablet supports dual-SIM and will run on a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The device will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The device sports a built-in memory of 8GB, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

Camera And Other Features

The device also comes with an 8 MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie shooter in the front. The device is not 4G compatible. Hence it will not support Reliance Jio network. The phablet will compete with the recently launched low budget smartphones like XiaomiRedmi 4A, Intex Aqua 4G Mini, and Micromax Spark Vdeo. However, the unavailability of the 4G connectivity may prove as a disadvantage for Datawind. Lack of 4G may surpass the attraction posed by the one-year free limited internet offer.

The other important specs like battery capacity are yet to be revealed. So, the phablet may still have hopes of capturing its share of the Indian smartphone market.
