In the mega event that was hosted today in Delhi by Samsung, two variant of smartphones were launched under its J-Series. The Galaxy J7 max was priced at 17,900 while Galaxy J7 Pro was priced at 20,900.One of the key highlights of this phone was the integration of Samsung Pay Mini.
Earlier, we have seen Samsung pay payment solution in various high model smartphones such as Galaxy S7, Galaxy S8, and Galaxy A-series. The new solution is made in a way where you can easily work on Android smartphones working on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and above and having HD(720P) DISPLAY. Now, let us have a look at how Samsung pay mini is different from Samsung pay.
What is Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay comes up with NFC technology such that you can use contactless payments via point of sales terminals using your smartphone. It uses magnetic secure transmission so as to copy the debit and credit card magnetic strips. In Samsung pay, you don’t need to swipe the debit or credit card physically. All you need to do is tap your smartphone near the magnetic strip of the PoS machine and then just complete the payment using IRIS OR Fingerprint.
Samsung pay is also integrated with PayTm, thus allow you to add your money to the Paytm Wallet conveniently. In addition, it allows receiving and sending money from other without the need to download the PayTm app.
Samsung pay is also integrated with UPI, thus enabling you to do cashless transactions to your friends, family, and shops which are further linked to your bank account. In addition, it allows you to quickly send money to your family members or friends using virtual payment address.
What is Samsung Pay Mini?
Samsung Pay Mini is considered as the lower version of Samsung Pay which is made in a way such that it is compatible with mid-range smartphones. It comes up with PayTm and UPI integration. However, it lacks important features such as NFC and MST technologies which make it incompatible to support the tap and pay feature using the debit and credit card.
When using a UPI, you perhaps get an option to scan the code using VPA to send money. In addition, you can use multiple UPI accounts which are linked to various banks. When you use PayTm, you get the option to scan the barcode or show the barcode to receive or send money.
With Samsung Pay Mini, the company is making sure that it offers a single platform for its customers to have UPI account and Paytm wallet at a single place so as to eliminate the requirement to download two applications. By all these, Samsung apparently doesn’t want to lose customers just because of the cashless phenomenon.
