In a blog post on security tips, we discussed about how Google made public an error found in Microsoft’s operating system. Google is running Project Zero, a project that talks about such flaws and errors. This is in a bid to make software programs more user-friendly.

Windows 7 and 8.1 OS versions have been infected, Google says. And it’s the CryptProtectMemory function that is affected, says James Forshaw, the head of Project Zero. The report was published by Google after the expiry of the 90-day deadline for Microsoft to fix the bug.

Of course, this didn’t go in good taste with Microsoft.
