Galaxy Note 7 Iris Scanner
The official announcement of the Note 7 is just round the corner, the event of which will be held on August 2. And in the run up, we have got a leaked video of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner, also known as the iris scanner. There have been talks earlier that the iris scanner in this device is doubtful for its potential. It came after the Note 7 teaser had come out last month.
We have posted the video for you below to see for yourself the lightning fast job the iris scanner carries out of detecting the eyes of the users and unlocking the screen in a jiffy. The video was first published on Weibo, China.
There will be a couple of screens – in the form of split screens when you see the Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner at work. The upper half will be for the iris scanning, while the below half will be for the traditional PIN or pattern lock. It’s also understood that the users can use fingerprint sensor for unlocking, which sits in the device’s home button. This is allowed in the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge.
The iris scanners have to be quick, fast and accurate. If they consume anywhere between one and two seconds, it’s “slow”. Moreover, its accuracy also matters. Otherwise, presenting a slower and inaccurate scanner would be a reason to doom the device itself.
On the other hand, a responsive and immediate iris scanner adds the much-needed boost to the device. And it looks, from the video that the Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner is one of its kinds. As users are now growing very conscious about the functioning of a device as well as privacy, a well-functioning iris scanner would potentially give a nice boost to the Galaxy Note 7.
The upcoming Samsung device will be carrying a 5.7-inch quad HD Super AMOLED display. It will be powered by a SD821 processor in the company of 6GB of RAM. The internal storage will be a healthy 64GB and will still have a microSD card for increasing the ROM. On the camera front there will be 12MP and 5MP lens combo.
