As per the latest update, Samsung has announced it they will release automatic software update starting today to all those Galaxy Note 7 devices bought in Australia.
Tech Company Samsung Electronics, Australia had confirmed the availability of Galaxy Note 7. This smartphone will be available in the markets of Australia from this month itself i.e. 21 September. Due to concerns regarding isolated battery cell, Samsung Australia took the voluntary initiative to refund on the distributed Galaxy Note 7 or to exchange it with new ones. On September 5, the company took a step ahead to give away new replacement Galaxy Note 7 smartphones to its Australian users.
Richard Fink, Vice President IT & Mobile, Samsung Electronics Australia stated:
“We would like to thank our loyal customers for their patience, and apologize for the inconvenience. We have been working hard to get the amazing Galaxy Note7 back in the hands of our customers to continue to enjoy.”
Following the above statement, Richard Fink also said, “Our number one priority is the safety of our customers, which is why we’ve worked hard to provide new replacement Note7 devices as quickly as possible. We appreciate our customers’ continued support as we start to deliver this new stock to operators and retailers around the country from September 21.”
The new stock of Galaxy Note 7 will resume its sales from early October as announced by Samsung Electronics, Australia.
Unfortunately, all the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 sold in Australia either through retail stores like Samsung Stores or Samsung Online stores; Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Good Guys or operators like Vodafone, Optus, and Telstra were found defected.
In case you need a remedy, you need to just head to the store from where you got yourself the Galaxy Note 7. If it is difficult to get an easy remedy you can contact the Samsung Store. In case Samsung Note 7 has been purchased from overseas or any of the websites like Kogan contact the Samsung Electronics for any sort of assistance.
Procedure for Galaxy Note 7 Replacement Stock
Galaxy Note 7 users affected by the issues are entitled to take the option of replacement when the new replacement stock arrives or can take the other option of a refund. You can also approach the Samsung retailers’ or operators’ from where you have purchased the smartphone.
From 21 September onward, the customers who have opted for replacement of Galaxy Note 7 shall be contacted from the places they had actually purchased the original Note 7 for the delivery or collection of the new ones.
Samsung Australia has asked its Note 7 customers who still have the affected smartphone to get a backup of all the important data, use the factory reset option to delete all personal information’s from the smartphone and return it to the original place from where it was purchased. This shall be done in order to get the remedy of their choice.

Go through your Note 7 after replacement:
To identify that you have received Note 7 from the replacement stock the new packaging will have two identifiers as stated below:
- A small black square on the white barcode label;
- A white sticker with a blue letter ‘S’ written in bold font.
Also, the customers through the unique IMEI number can actually verify whether the Galaxy Note 7 is the replaced one or the old affected one.
The two ways to find out the unique IMEI number on the Galaxy Note 7 package are:
a) The 15 digit number on the white label; or
b) Through the Galaxy Note7 smartphone just dial *#06#.
