Here are the details on how to book Reliance JioPhone, the free 4G VoLTE enabled phone from Reliance, which is termed as India ka Intelligent Smartphone.
How to book Reliance JioPhone
As the Reliance JioPhone is creating a havoc in the Indian telecom market, let’s have a look at how to book Reliance JioPhone, after it was launched for free in India yesterday. If you are interested in buying the phone for a refundable deposit of INR 1500, here’s what you will have to do.
How you can Book Your JioPhone
The phones will be available on “first-come first-serve” system. This means you will have to be among the early birds to grab your Reliance JioPhone. To book your phone, you’ll need the Reliance MyJio app. Alternatively, you can visit your nearest retailer in case you don’t have the app.
You have to pay a deposit of INR 1500, which is refundable after a period of three years. This means, when you book your JioPhone, you won’t have to pay a single rupee. According to Reliance head Mr. Mukesh Ambani, the deposit is only for a security purpose, so there’s no misuse of data.
Reliance hopes to make available as many as 5 million JioPhone units per week to the customers who are interested in buying the phone.
A shade of Indianness to the JioPhone is that the phone has been made totally indigenously. As per RIL Chairman, only Indian engineers have built the phone. This makes it a potential customer to go with the anti-China crusade to promote this phone.
The pre-orders start on August 24 and the feature phone will hit the market in the next month.
Reliance terms the phone as a smartphone instead of a feature phone. It comes with a keyboard as any phone these days, apart from supporting a number of languages. More importantly, the phone has an SOS feature too. As for the display, it is 2.4-inches. As said above, there’s 4G VoLTE and all voice calls come totally free. And don’t forget, there’s the JioCinema in the phone as well.
