HTC Butterfly 2 Launched for South Asia Markets

The HTC Butterfly 2 has been launched for the South Asian markets today. The same Smartphone, some days ago, was launched as J Butterfly for KDDI for Japan. According to the new Smartphone news, the phone will be available in select countries initially.

The new Smartphone launch in India will materialize gradually. The phone will first be launched in Taiwan on September 2. Hong Kong, India and Malaysia followed by Singapore and Thailand are the countries where the HTC Butterfly 2 will be launched.

The HTC Butterfly 2 is the successor to the HTC Butterfly, which was launched in the last year. The price of the HTC Butterfly was Rs. 49,990.

Display & Processor

The HTC device comes with 5 inch FHD display and has a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. The processor in the Smartphone is the 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC.

RAM & Camera

The processor is coupled with 2MB RAM, so it gives a pretty smooth processing.

There are two cameras in the Smartphone. The front camera is 5MP capacity and the rear camera is a healthy 13MP shooter. The rear camera is dual-LED flash.


The HTC Butterfly 2 comes with two options of in-built storage – 16GB and 32GB storage. Both variants have the option of increasing the storage with microSD card. The storage can be increased up to 128GB.

Connectivity Options

The connectivity options in the HTC Butterfly 2 are Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with DLNA, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, Micro-USB with MHL, 4G LTE, and 3G connectivity options.


The HTC Smartphone has a 2700mAh battery that supports a talk time of around 24 hours on 3G network. The backup time is 643 hours.

Available Colors

The HTC Butterfly 2 comes in three color options to choose from. The available colors are white, blue and red.

Dimensions & Weight

The dimensions of the Butterfly 2 are 145.4 mm X 70.2 mm X 9.99 mm. The weight of the device is 151 grams.
