Intex Cloud FX – the Firefox OS Smartphone will be introduced in the market in the month of August. Recently Mozilla had announced that Intex and Spice – the two domestic handset makers will be launching Smartphones based on the Firefox OS. The launch will take place in the next few months. Spice has said that they will be launching the device until July.
Intex Cloud FX
Intex has said that the price of the Intex Cloud FX Smartphone will be less than Rs. 2000. This simply means that it will be a budget Smartphone on the Firefox OS. Not only that, it will be a dual-SIM device, according to BGR. Intex has also released some specs to get an idea of the device.
Display & Resolution
Camera & Connectivity
There will be a 2MP primary camera in the Intex Cloud FX. However, there is no mention about the secondary camera. For a gadget costing less than Rs. 2000, it looks difficult to have two cameras. The connectivity options are Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. These specs remind us of those specifications of the $25 Firefox operating system brought by Mozilla and Spreadtrum during the MWC this year.
Firefox OS Smartphone platform
Speaking more about the $25 platform of the Firefox OS for Smartphones, it rests on the Spreadtrum SC6821 chipset. It offers support to 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreens with a resolution of 320 X 480 pixels. It also supports Bluetooth as well as Wi-Fi connectivity. Apart from that, there is also support for some camera function, HTML 5 apps and FM radio. This means, there should be some of these features in the Intex Cloud FX, which haven’t been mentioned.
Intex targeting higher sales
Intex is targeting sales of something around 3 million phones in this year. In the previous year, Intex had sold about 1.5 million Smartphones.
