Apple could release the next year’s iPhone 8 variants with glass backs. A report suggests there will be a total of three devices. The upcoming iPhone sizes will vary as 4.7-inch, 5-inch, and 5.5-inch.

According to a Japanese report, Apple could also use the metal casings which it is using for its current iPhone devices. As per the source, the Cupertino giant had stopped producing the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 having the single-lens prior to the iPhone 7 Plus launch. Likewise, the company could change its plans for next iPhone, as the source called the glass backs in upcoming iPhone 8 variants “tentative”.
Apple iPhone 8 concept images have already knocked the door. And the latest report further elaborates the upcoming Apple iPhone could use the metal frame that holds the device’s front and back sides together. And sitting in between that, you are more likely to find an OLED tech.
Reportedly, Biel and Lens will provide the front and back glass for the upcoming Apple iPhone. Now Apple is all set to bring a completely new look with its next year’s iPhone device. Apparently, the company decided to change the design and look after being criticized for iPhone 7 sibling’s similar look with the previous models. It is being said that the design and feel are very similar to the prior devices having no new features included.
Reportedly, Foxconn along with its subsidiaries was working on the glass backs for Apple’s iPhone 8 series. But they are expected to lose the orders because of the technological factors. This can even hit the bottom line of the company as Foxconn is Apple’s main assembling associate in regard of iPhone. Foxconn has been designing the metal casings for Apple iPhone SE and the 7 Plus. It splits iPhone 7 casing orders along with Jabil and Catcher.
The report also hinted of iPhone 8 model with the top 5.5-inch variant to get a curved OLED display. This resembles much like Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. While the other two iPhone sizes 4.7-inch and 5-inch is said to sport the same LTPS technology that was used on the current iPhone 7 variants.
