Lava launches Iris 406Q with quad-core CPU. The price of the Lava Iris 406Q in India is Rs. 7,499. This will spell more competition in the Indian market that already has a host of gadgets in this price range.

Lava Launches Iris 406Q

With this launch of the Iris 406Q, the company has launched officially a new phone. The Smartphone is a budget phone and so it will bring more competition in the market. The phone was also listed on the web site of the company too.

On Wednesday, the phone was listed for pre-order via Flipkart and was a tad cheaper at Rs. 6,999. Lava has made it clear that the pre-order was exclusive only for Flipkart. However, the device will soon available all over the stores from the next week.


The Lava device has a WVGA screen display of 4-inches. The resolution of the screen is 480 X 800 pixels.

The device is powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. And it can further be upgraded with Android 4.4 KitKat. The device supports 3G dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) and supports dual standby.

Processor & Camera

The 1.2GHz quad-core CPU (Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset) and Adreno 302 @400MHz GPU power the Lava gadget. It is supported by 1GB RAM.

There are two cameras in the device. The primary camera is 5MP that comes with LCD flash. The secondary camera is just 0.3MP shooter.

Storage & Connectivity

There is 4GB internal storage in the Lava device. And with the help of microSD card, it can be expanded up to 32GB. The device supports 3G, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi and GPRS/ EDGE connectivity options.

Battery & Dimensions

The Lava Iris 406Q has a battery of 1700mAh. The dimensions of the device is 124 X 64 X 10.3mm.

Earlier this week, Lava had launched the Lava Iris Pro 20 in India for a price of Rs. 13,999.
