Meizu A5 has been launched in China for a price of CNY 699 which is INR 6700 and has been listed under the company’s official website.
Meizu has introduced its new A series with the launch of a new smartphone called the A5. The new Meizu A5 has been launched in China and listed on the company’s official website. The A5 will be available in three colors including matte black, gold and silver.
Talking about specs, the device features a metal unibody build with a black panel. There is also a physical home button that doesn’t offer fingerprint sensor, though there are other smartphones with the same budget support fingerprint sensor. On the back, the rear camera is placed at the top center along with LED flash and a Meizu branding. The power button and volume buttons are present on the right side and the SIM tray is placed on the left side.
It sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display and is powered by the 1.3 GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor with 650MHz Mali T720 MP1 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The device offers 16GB of inbuilt storage option with no mention about expandable storage. Camera-wise, the Meizu A5 has an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, f/2.0 aperture, and single-LED flash support. At the front, the smartphone houses a 5-megapixel sensor with a f/2.2 aperture to capture perfect selfies. Meizu A5 runs on Flyme OS based on Android Operating system and comes with a single-SIM slot (Nano).
The battery capacity is 3,060mAh, and connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11n, Micro-USB port, GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, and 4G support. Sensors on board include proximity, light, accelerometer, magnetometer and the infrared sensor. The dimension is at 144.5 x 72 x 8.3 mm and weighs 150 grams.
This smartphone carries a price tag of 699 CNY(Chinese Yuan), which converts to INR 6700. Comparing with other available smartphones at the price range of INR 7000, the Meizu A5 will have to compete with Xiaomi Redmi 4, Yu Yureka and Micromax Evok Power.
