Micromax Unite 4 and Unite 4 Pro are the latest Android smartphone launch in India. The devices run on Indus OS 2.0. These are new phones in company’s Unite series.

The latest Android smartphone launch in India by the local Indian brand is the Micromax Unite 4 and Unite 4 Pro. These are budget smartphones by Micromax and cost pretty affordable. The price of Unite 4 is Rs. 6,999, while the Unite 4 Pro costs only Rs. 500 more at is priced at Rs. 7,499.
At the time of writing this article, only the Unite 4 is available via retails stores in India. As far as the Micromax Unite 4 Pro is concerned, it will remain exclusive to Snapdeal.
As these are pretty low-priced devices, the Unite 4 specifications along with the Unite 4 Pro will understandably be not too flashy.
Reason for Such Low Price
The reason for Micromax to put both the devices at such a low price is first time users. The company says it wants to target users who wish to use these phones in their local language. A first for the Micromax Unite 4 and the 4 Pro is its operating system. The mobile phones run on Indus OS 2.0. The OS supports as many as 12 regional languages and App Bazaar. Other features include Indus Swipe and Indus-to-Indus free SMS. That’s not all. The new OS brings along the text-to-speech tech for six major Indian languages.
App Bazaar is the Indus OS’s marketplace for regional language. It lets users download as well as pay for their apps even if they do not have credit cards or emails.
Micromax Unite 4 Specifications
The Unite 4 comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display having a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. A 1GHz quad-core MediaTek processor in the company of 1GB RAM powers the device. The native storage is 8GB, while it can be expanded by up to 32GB with a microSD card. It’s supported by a 2500mAh battery. Android 6.0 Marshmallow runs the device, with Indus OS 2.0 on top.
Micromax Unite 4 Pro Specifications
Like the Unite 4, the Unite 4 Pro also has 5-inch HD IPS display having a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. However, the device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor and 2GB of RAM. It also has improved storage with 16GB. However, the memory can be expanded only like the Unite 4 – up to 32GB. Even with a Pro device, Micromax has decided to go with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS for this handset. It however, said, without mentioning any deadline, that it can be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It’s supported by a 3900mAh battery.
