Microsoft Windows Smartphones
With the introduction of the Microsoft Windows Smartphones as well as tablets, Microsoft will be taking on the other companies in the market that already have these devices for a long time now. The competition will be tough and will test Microsoft in this venture.
But the cheaper Smartphones and tabs, which run on Windows Phone OS, should bring in the customers towards them. Wall Street Journal reported that the VP of Microsoft, Nick Parker spoke to reporters at a trade show in Taipei. According to him, Microsoft is planning to sell budget devices that will cost less than $200. However, these devices will not be available in all the markets.
The US-based software giant will be bringing out devices with screen sizes of 7-inches, 8-inches and 10-inches. “They will really surprise you”, is that Parker said during the Computex trade show.
In the previous year, the Microsoft Windows Smartphones and tabs came at a cost in the range of $300 to $500. But this year, it will be much less from 1s, 2s and 3s, Parker said.
It was also made clear that the prices mentioned of the Microsoft Windows Smartphones and tabs will the end prices for a consumer and will not have carrier subsidies.
There was no mention about the manufacture which would partner Microsoft and bring these budget devices in the market. However, there is a long list of companies as Microsoft added Samsung, Nokia, Huawei and HTC to its previous partners like LG, Gionee, ZTE and Karbonn.
And as Microsoft is bringing out the Windows Phone gadgets, they may renew their partnership with HTC. However, Parker did not specify anything about the device partners but just hinted about renewed partnership with HTC.
