A morphed picture of Sonia Gandhi has been uploaded on Facebook and it has created a lot of stir around. It was understood that the photo was uploaded by a so-called Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) activist.
The youth was booked for posting the picture which was termed as being objectionable. Sonia Gandhi is the President of the ruling Congress party in India. Her husband, the late Rajiv Gandhi was the youngest Prime Minister of free India.
The activist has been identified as one Sandeep Bhalla. A case has been registered under the section 66A of the IT Act (Information Technology Act). It was the local Congress leader, Sanjay Sehgal, who registered the complaint.
The complaint was immediately registered. Mr. Sehgal also approached the police for further help. Sehgal also pointed out that they had also sent another morphed picture, this time of Vice President Rahul Gandhi to the police.
Even the morphed picture of Rahul Gandhi was said to have been uploaded by BJP activists.
The state president of the BJP, Kamal Sharma has come forward to speak about the matter. According to Mr. Sharma, Bhalla is not a member of the party, but a mere supporter. He added that BJP is a party that respects the women. On their part, they have also asked their unit to investigate the developments.
