MWC 2018 is just a few hours away. And before the day arrives, here’s a final burst of leaks that you can watch out. And yes, there are expected releases too.
GSMA, one of the biggest and reliable names in the tech world is all set to host one of the most anticipated mobile conferences. The Mobile World Conference which covers everything from smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches is all set to be conducted from 26 February 26 to March 1st. Always been a platform for companies to launch smartphones, the Mobile World Conference is expected to showcase more of higher-end devices like always connected laptops. The launch day is scheduled for February 25 and leaks have already begun about the new gadgets that are expected to be unveiled this year. Well, what are they? Let’s find out!
Huawei has the history of always releasing new devices at the MWC. Though the new flagship from the company, the P20 is not expected to be released at the event. There is another gadget that is expected. Just like in 2016, a new MateBook is expected, but with far more better and upgraded features. Among the various new features, a new 4G connectivity and Snapdragon chipset are also expected. Though fans were the letdown that the P20 will not be showcased at the event, the new MateBook is being looked forward to.
Though it’s been a while since HTC released a noteworthy phone for the global audience, a major phone is expected by HTC at the event. Expectations are up that the brand new HTC U11 Eyes that was released in China would soon be available to users around the world, for a more global audience. The HTC U11 Eyes has dual cameras in the back of the phone which clicks some gorgeous photographs. But considering the fact that HTC usually prefers to do online launches, an official launch at the World Congress also is doubtful, thus shutting down dreams of seeing the U12 at the Congress. But reports also suggest that HTC might go ahead and surprise us by releasing the HTC U11+ at the Congress.
Samsung has always announced on when the Galaxy S9 will be released, that is on Sunday before the MWC begins. And so there is not much of surprise over there. The S9 is bringing a brand new experience to the camera segment of the phone. In its own words, “It’s redefining the camera.” And since such a change will also call for a lot of showing-off, we can expect Samsung boasting the S9’s camera in the Congress.
Sony is expected to unveil a premium flagship at the conference. The Xperia XZ1 has been a few months back, and so there are chances for the updated version of the same phone, namely the XZ2. Chances are also likely for the compact version of the XZ2 too. Since Sony has just unveiled two mid-range phones, the Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra, there are chances for Sony to unveil only the flagships, like the also rumored XZ Pro.
For the past many years, LG has been consistently releasing the top flagships at the MWC. Almost all the phones in the G series has been released at the Mobile Congress. Since LG is still pending on releasing the G7, expectations are high on that. But at the same time, there is also a rumor that the G7 has been scrapped due to the design. Hence we don’t know for sure if we’ll be seeing an alternative phone or no phone from LG this year.
