New Lyrics Curators to Grace Apple Music

Apple is going to hire new lyrics curators for Apple Music and the Lyrics Curator Manager will be working on the latest Apple Music feature in iOS 10 which will provide lyrics for every song played by Apple Music.

New Lyrics Curators

The Music Business Worldwide was the first one to notice that there are Content Curator team job listings – new lyrics curators which will be responsible to maintain the best user experience possible in the content. According to Apple, they are searching a manager who can team lead lyrics curators who can work on excellent writing skills, music knowledge, and attention to detail. Also, the manager should have the passion for technology and a questioning will for current workflows along with a mindset for improving tools and processes including understanding, love and experience in writing lyrics.

If we talk about the non-managerial positions, Apple is looking out for experienced candidates who are fluent in languages like Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese and German, which means only some of the members of the lyrics team can work on translations of song lyrics into other languages. These job requirements also include that the candidate should be able to accurately and quickly transcribe lyrics, good in “superlative writing skills” and possess willingness to learn “new and complicated tools and processes”.

When we go to the Now Playing window on Apple Music iOS 10, it shows an option where song lyrics are displayed in most of the Apple Music songs. They are still trying to come up with the lyrics of the new releases as it is not available in all the songs. However, it is still to be known that who does the Apple lyrics, whether its done in-house or they have outsourced it to a partner company specialized in lyrics transcription. The new lyrics curators have their job cut out for sure. The redesigned Apple Music will launch globally in this fall.
