With the launch of Vivo Y55L, the company expands the array of new smartphones in India. Priced at Rs. 11,980, the device is said to be the enhanced version of a prior model, Y51L released around January.

The China-based company has announced Vivo X7 and X7 Plus in the month of June. The range of smartphones in India brings support 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, USB OTG, and Wi-Fi. The Vivo Y55L also comes with a support for 3.5mm audio jack.

The new smartphones in India feature an HD display of 5.2-inch along with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The Vivo Y55L highlights a metal unibody alongside an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor that is clocked at 1.4GHz. Vivo brings the line-up for the new smartphones for the Indian market, which features a curved edge screen of 2.5D.

Moving on to more specific details, the Vivo Y55L sports a 2GB RAM coupled with an internal memory of 16GB that can also be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The new smartphone carries an 8MP primary camera along with a 5MP selfie camera.

Vivo Y55L makes its mark with a split-screen feature that can be used for doing multiple jobs at a time. The feature also brings an eye protection mode which is said to minimize the blue light so that it sets for comfortable screen display with proper brightness. This new smartphone in India runs on Funtouch OS 2.6 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Kent Cheng, CEO of Vivo India, opined:

“India is a very important market for us because of the maximum smartphone penetration. We want to cater to every price point with our innovative products. And, through Y55L we want to tap the users that are looking for a smartphone that not just looks great but also delivers the desired results with its overall package.”

The Vivo Y55L measures 147.9×72.9×7.5mm. And with a weight of 142 grams the device packs a 2650mAh battery that should provide a quite a long life. The sensors for these new smartphones in India consider the proximity sensor, accelerometer, virtual gyroscope, and ambient light.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer announced Vivo V3 with some amazing features and affordable price. Vivo Y55L is carrying the legacy of affordable price tag with Rs 11,980. The device will be available in two different color options like Space Grey and Gold.
