The Nokia X Android Smartphone, which was in the news recently, has now been listed online. The price of the Nokia X Android Smartphone in India is Rs. 8,500. The availability of the phone is known to be March 15. However, one will have to wait and see what the official price tag will be as the price mentioned herein isn’t an official source.
The phone is listed on the Mobile Store in India and the Maktech blog was the first to spot it. The price mentioned is also known from this source. Nokia had listed three of its latest phones after the MWC 2014 event that recently concluded.
The Smartphones that were listed were the Nokia X, the Nokia X+ and the Nokia XL dual-SIM. The company hadn’t then spoken about the price or the availability of the phone. However, the Finnish company had reported that they would be bringing the Nokia X in the market immediately.
The possible markets for the Nokia X will be Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and India. The Nokia device will come in six colors – cyan, green, red, yellow, black and white. So, there will be a range of options to choose from.
The Nokia X is rests on the AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The device is powered by the services of Nokia and Microsoft. The main feature of the Nokia phone is the easily customized version of the Android OS. There is Metro-inspired UI as well as access to Nokia app store.
Interestingly, there is no access to Google Play Store. But users will still be able to side-load the Android apps from a third-party source. Nokia has made use of the AOSP version equivalent to the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the baseline for the phone’s OS.
The phone comes with dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support along with dual standby. There is 4-inch IPS LCD display and comes with a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. A 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor powers the phone coupled with 512 MB RAM. There is 3MP rear camera, but no word on the front camera.
The in-built storage is 4GB and can be expanded up to 32GB with the help of MicroSD card. The various connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, EDGE, AGPS, 3G and GPRS. The phone comes with 1500mAh battery. It delivers a talktime of nearly 13 hours and has a standby time of about 672 hours on 2G.
