The Oppo R9 and R9 Plus announced officially in the Chinese market. Both devices have similar design language. However, under the hood, you will find several differences to speak of.
Let us have a look at one device at a time.
The Oppo R9 happens to be the smaller smartphone of the two. This does not mean it is really a small device. It comes with Full HD AMOLED 5.5-inch screen. One thing that needs a special mention is the bezel size that Oppo has kept to a minimal of 1.66mm on either side. And the dimensions are 151.8 x 74.3 x 6.6mm.
The MediaTek Helio P10 chip powers the device along with Cortex-A53 cores with a clock speed of 2.0GHz – these are the four cores. The remaining four are at 1.0GHz. RAM is 4GB, while the internal storage is 64GB. It has a microSD card slot with which the memory can be pushed to 128GB.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the secondary camera has a better resolution then the primary one. The front camera is 16MP with f/2.0 lens, while the rear camera is 13MP shooter.
OPPO R9 PLUS
The R9 Plus has the ante in multiple sections. As the “Plus” suggests, this one comes with a bigger 6-inch display and similar to the R9, has Full HD AMOLED screen. The bezel size is a tad bigger at 1.76mm. However, the screen-to-body ratio is higher at 79.3% as against the 77.7% for R9.
A Snapdragon 652 chip will power the device along with quad-core 1.8GHz Cortex-A72 apart from 1.2GHz Cortex A53. You will find 4GB of RAM in this device too. Basically the storage is 64GB and you can also have a 128GB version. And if you wish to increase the storage, there you have hybrid microSD/second-SIM slot too.
