The all new Oppo R9s and Oppo R9s Plus have been unveiled in China with a price tag CNY 2,799 and CNY 3,499 respectively. The Chinese smartphone maker has introduced two color variants, Rose Gold and Gold, for the latest models.
Oppo released the R9 and R9 Plus in March. The brand new Oppo R9s being the smaller model sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with the resolution 1080 x 1920 pixels. There is a 4GB RAM in the R9s that perfectly blends with the Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone sports a 3,010mAh battery and is in the company of the VOOC fast charging technology. The display screen is perfectly secured with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 but the optics don’t have the OIS. The R9s is powered by octa-core 625 processor with 2.0GHz SD. The phone weighs 145g and measures 153 x 74.3 x 6.58mm.
The newly launched device packs a fingerprint sensor that is placed right below the display of the Home Button. This device features three antenna lines, which is quite slicker than the 1.5mm or 2mm width antenna lines of Oppo’s counterpart.
Oppo R9s Plus
As for the specifications, the R9s Plus features a 6-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The R9s Plus is the larger smartphone in terms of display among both the latest devices. It sports a 6GB RAM coupled with a massive 64GB inbuilt memory. The internal memory can also be expanded up to 129GB by using a microSD card.
The display screen of the R9s Plus is preserved with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone is powered by the 653 octa-core processor along with a 1.9GHz Snapdragon. The smartphone runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. With Adreno 510 GPU, the R9s Plus features the ColorOS 3.0 skin alongside a hybrid dual-SIM support.
When considering the camera features, Oppo seems to justify its tag “the camera phone”. Oppo R9s possess a 16MP rear camera with Sony IMX398 sensor. The rear camera includes f/1.7 aperture, LED flash, OIS, and dual-core focus. The newly launched device also sports a front camera with 16MP sensor.
The battery is somewhat a giant for the Oppo R9s with 4000mAh capacity. The battery also supports the VOOC flash charging that the company boasts of delivering 2 hours of talking time after charging just for 5 minutes.
As for the connectivity options, the Oppo R9s Plus comes along GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, NFC and the 4G VoLTE. The device measures 163.3x80x7.35mm with a weight of just 185g.
Both these phones have been priced at CNY 2,799 which is around Rs.27,700 and CNY 3,499 that’s nearly Rs.34,700 respectively. But the Chinese device maker has not commented on the availability of the devices in the Indian market.
The Oppo R9s and Oppo R9s Plus are now available for pre-orders in China and they will start shipping the devices from October 28 onwards. Now probably this is the time you can grab Oppo’s latest offerings.
