Pros and cons of POCOPHONE F1

There is the Xiaomi value behind the sub-brand, no doubt. Let’s now have a look at the pros and cons of POCOPHONE F1.

The Pros of POCOPHONE F1

  • RAM

One of the best features of the POCOPHONE F1 is the RAM. Xiaomi has offered two RAM variants in the form of 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM. The Poco being a sub-brand, Xiaomi has still offered a basic 6GB RAM variant, which is quite commendable. Other Xiaomi phones like Redmi 6 Pro and the Redmi 6 best has the 4GB RAM variant. Considering that with the Poco F1 has cool 8GB RAM variant.

  • Memory

The way Xiaomi has built the RAM, the same goes for the memory too. In the storage department, you will get three options to choose from – 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Actually, for the 256GB memory, you will need the memory to be expanded with the microSD card.

  • Camera

One of the best features in the Poco F1 is the selfie camera. A 20MP camera sensor gives the phone an edge in the price bracket that other phones fall in. There’s the f/2.0, 1.8um for selfies that Xiaomi is improving in.

  • Snapdragon 845 Processor

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset is “reserved” for flagships, as we all know. However, using the same SoC for a phone that’s brought out in a sub-brand, pushes the value of the Poco F1 to new heights.

  • Price Tag

No one expected Xiaomi to tag the phone starting at a mere Rs. 20,999. That is the starting price that puts the phone aggressively priced. That’s the price for the 6GB-64GB combo. For the 6GB-128GB variant, you will have to pay a bit more at Rs. 23,999. The top-end variant of 8GB-256GB will be costly by 5K at Rs. 28,999.

The Cons of POCOPHONE F1

  • Build-Body

If you are a flagship user, you might not be flattered by the Poco F1. The pricing is on the brand’s side. But then that also means some compromise on some features. And that’s what the cons of the POCOPHONE F1 are. The phone comes in a plastic body, so that would probably put you off. If you aren’t a particular Xiaomi enthusiast, the Poco F1 just couldn’t be your choice.

  • Notch

It would be surprising to see the notch being put in the cons category. There are so many Android phones that now have a notch at the top. However, the notch in the Poco F1 is something that will likely put off Xiaomi users too. If you compare the Poco F1 and the OnePlus 6, the Poco F1 notch is quite a big one.

  • Camera

See the fun. The camera has been mentioned in the pros above and again it features in the cons. The thing is that Xiaomi is improving with recent Redmi Note and Mi series in the camera department. Considering that the Poco phone doesn’t have an OIS (optical image stabilization) feature.

  • No Stock Android

Xiaomi has brought out a number of Android One devices to give you a feel of the stock Android. Three of the recent phones in the Mi Series are the Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite, and the Mi A1.  Yes, the Poco phone isn’t in the stock Android category. That’s why you won’t be getting the test of the basic Android features in the sub-brand.

More Features

As far as the pros and Cons of POCOPHONE F1 are concerned, the phones have both the upsides and downsides. Due to the plastic body, it is easily breakable. And if it’s broken the phone surely won’t look good until it’s fixed. There’s neither NFC nor water resistance. But overall, the downsides of the phone do not underestimate the F1.

Another feature that you must not forget is the huge battery. The Poco F1 carries a 4,000mAh cell. The battery should easily last you more than a day on a moderate usage. Moreover, the power is powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor. The phone comes equipped with LiquidCool cooling system. This should help in cooling the F1 faster.

With so many features that Xiaomi has actually put in the new sub-brand’s F1 phone, you can easily ignore the downsides to grab the phone. What is your opinion on the pros and Cons of POCOPHONE F1. Do write your thoughts in the comments section below.
