Creating zeal among customers, Reliance Jio Welcome Offer had flung into the telecom industry. The offer has the longevity till December 31 that is available for the users who will subscribe to it by December 3.
Reliance Jio Welcome Offer
The Reliance Jio Welcome Offer brings free voice calls with mobile data to the customers. This offer was introduced on September 4. The company has recently marked 16 million registrations in the first month after introducing the offer.
Reliance had collaborated with LeEco in the past for the Reliance Jio Welcome Offer. This is one of the biggest turns for Mukesh Ambani leading Reliance Industries. The telecom company has also marched into the fiber broadband plans.
While publicizing Jio, Mukesh Ambani said that the voice calls on Jio will be free for a lifetime. He also talked about a cheap rate for mobile data usage on Jio after the end of Jio welcome offer.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has intervened and released an order that says, as per regulations the free services that are being delivered by Reliance, should be limited to 90 days. This signifies that the offer would end on December 3rd.
According to TRAI:
“The revised offer of free services by Reliance Jio has been limited to 90 days i.e. December 3, 2016 and therefore is consistent with the guidelines on promotional offers.”
Listening to this order, a Reliance Jio spokesperson has been contacted who said that:
“Benefits of free unlimited Voice and data will be available to all subscribers up to December 31, 2016. JWO will be available to new consumers for subscription till December 3, 2016.”
According to the spokesperson, Reliance Jio Welcome Offer will be bringing some new tariff plans after December 3rd. The customers who didn’t subscribe for Welcome Offer by the said date will get the other recent offers released by the company.
The company spokesperson wasn’t available for comment on the tariffs regarding the end of the Reliance Jio Welcome Offer, from 4th December 2016.
Recently we saw a report mentioning the free offer to be delivered by Reliance Jio to the new iPhone users. The telecom competitors like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone have complained to TRAI against this new scheme for offering free calls along with data access.
The Authority has said that it will monitor the entire industry and the tariffs that would be offered in the market including Reliance Jio.
