Review of HTC One M8
HTC has given the market some of the Smartphones the industry could get. The HTC One has been the best ever selling handset. There are also a lot of expectations from the HTC One M8 from the company, both in the market as well as financial returns.
The HTC One M8 has a display of 5-inch Super LCD3 screen. The screen has full-HD resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels. There is also the Gorilla Glass 3 protection. So, the screen is saved from accidental scratches or drops.
Design & Dimensions
Along with the screen and the speakers, the phone makes for a larger gadget. However, at 71 X 146 X 9.4mm and with 160g of weight, the phone could be a tad larger for your pocket.
OS & Storage
The device runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It is coupled with the latest version of HTC’s Sense UI.
There is only 10.1GB of available storage due to various apps and add-ons. However, the storage can be expanded up to 128GB with microSD card.
HTC terms the second camera to the back of the device as Duo camera system. The second camera captures depth-of-field information for the pictures. This won’t work when the zoom feature is used. The blur effect can be used with the foreground or the background to bring in some attractive effects.
The Foregrounder tool is one such feature that will help you in applying the effects only to some particular areas only.
The battery capacity of the HTC One 8 is 2600mAh. However, that wasn’t really enough to go through one day’s usage on a single charge. Extreme Power Saving Mode is one such feature that cuts the right of entry to most of the features as well as apps. This leaves you with just the only minimal features of phone, email, SMS.
Processor & RAM
The HTC device comes with 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC processor and is coupled with 2GB RAM.
The price of the HTC One M8 is $800, which is roughly more than Rs. 48,000.
