Samsung brings out 10.1 inch Galaxy Tab 3 powered by Intel chips

The South Korean company, Samsung Electronics has unveiled a couple of new tabs – the Galaxy Tab 3 with 10.1 inch display and another tablet with 8-inch screen with Intel chips.
Samsung has said that it will be using the Intel processors for powering their latest Android tablet, which will be one of the top-end tabs from the company. Samsung’s decision to go with the Intel chips is a triumph for the chip maker from the United States in its attempt to set itself up in the mobile market.
Earlier, the chips designed by ARM Holdings were used by Samsung in their previous mobile handsets. These chips were made by using the energy-efficient technology. The Galaxy Tab 3 will be in direct competition with Apple’s iPad. The Intel 1.6 GHz dual core processor will power the tablet. The tab will be using Google’s latest Android OS.
Intel has been detecting terms in the PC industry for years on end now. Though they have been the undisputed leader in this segment, they have never taken the mobile chip industry seriously. In fact, the company was indeed sluggish in producing the chips that would appeal to the Smartphone makers.
As far as the new 10.1 tab is concerned, it can support the 3G and 4G network. The screen comes with a resolution of 1280 X 800.
