There’s a new scam circulating in the world of internet that can potentially steal your private and vita Gmail information. There’s a warning that you should all take seriously. You may get a mail with the title “Documents”. Clicking the link will take you to a web page that resembles a page like the one for Google Drive sign-in.
And you know what you have to do, just don’t enter any of your information in it. The first thing is that be careful about not opening that kind of mail at all. It is a potential phishing scam that is being circulated around. The person creates a counterfeit portal that needs the private information from you.
A false Google Drive landing page is used to get hold of your Gmail address along with the password. The official blog page of Symantec, an online security company had reported it.
You are made to think in a way that what you are viewing are the documents, which are on Google Docs and of course you will need to sign in to view them. But, it doesn’t need to mention it again that all’s scam.
A Google representative spoke to popular site Huffington Post about the scam and said “We’ve removed the fake pages and our abuse team is working to prevent this kind of spoofing from happening again.” There is a message that Google sends out saying if anyone has mistakenly given out your information, do set your password again.
Just have a look at both images. Can you tell the fake one from the real? Probably no. They all look so similar. But the image that’s above is the false log in screen, while the image at the bottom is the real one.
