The STAMINA Mode has made a return to Sony Xperia Z5 lineup after it got a software update. This will definitely help to improve Xperia Z5 battery life. The feature went off when Sony circulated the Android 6.0 update.
One of the best features to have in the Sony Xperia Z5 lineup was the STAMINA mode. It was made any background activity to shut down if you weren’t using phone – the screen is turned off. Though, there are many excellent battery save apps, like DU Battery Saver, this was a very helpful feature in the Sony handsets that was successful in pushing the standby time to a whopping 400%.
Apart from how this feature works, you must also know some Android battery saving tips. So, even if you aren’t a Sony Xperia user, you will know how to take care of your smartphone’s battery.
The Xperia Z5 battery life got a big boost this way. How can Sony do away with this USP of their devices? And when was the STAMINA mode removed from their devices?
Android 6.0 Update
The issue surfaced after Sony rolled out the Android 6.0 update. And all the users of these Sony smartphones were left without the STAMINA mode. Certainly, this was going to have brickbats. Suddenly having to use a smartphone without one of its best features was something not good for Sony battery or Sony users.
Given the fact that this is a tool that extends the handset’s battery life for a couple of days, this feature had to make a return. And with the Xperia Z5 software update, Sony announced the return of the STAMINA mode.
Which Devices get the Update
This update, which goes from 32.1.A.1.185 to 32.2.A.0.224, comes with the Android 6.0.1. And now, the latest list of devices that extend the Xperia Z5 battery life, are Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Dual along with the Xperia Z5 Compact – both E5803 and E5823. Another device in the Xperia Z5 series – the Xperia Z5 Premium is still waiting for the STAMINA mode. However, it will also get it before long.
There will also be Ultra STAMINA Mode apart from the older feature. This feature goes that extra distance to cut down on the Xperia Z5 battery life “limiting the available apps to the minimum required.” Users will also get the Google security patch brought out April 1 with the update. It also brings a novel way of opening the smartphone’s camera directly from the lock screen by just pressing the power button two times, one after the other fast.
You should get the STAMINA mode through OTA. And remember, your Sony battery should be at least 50% while you get the Xperia Z5 software update.
