Tata Docomo has launched the Photon Max Wi-Fi Internet dongle that comes with built-in hotspot. The price of the Photon Max Wi-Fi Internet dongle in India is Rs. 1,999. The dongle has a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot.
This is the latest addition to the family of the Tata Photon connectivity products. The product can handle up to five Wi-Fi devices at the same time and yet can reach the download speed of 6.2Mbps. However, one can experience this speed in only some selected cities in the country.
At the other cities users are likely to experience speeds up to 3.1Mbps. The speed can still come down to a mere 153.5Kbps in some other regions in the country.
Any standard USB port is enough to get going. You can plug the dongle to any device that has a USB port like your laptop, computer, or even a tablet. What’s more, you can even use it in your car if your car has a UBS port. If the claims of Tata are to be believed, the device has a range of 100 meters.
Like the other Photon devices – the Photon Max or the Photo Plus, even the Photon Max Wi-Fi operates at 800MHz frequency. This means the indoor connectivity is much better than those devices that operate on GSM frequencies.
The best thing about the dongle is that it can be easy to use wherever you like. The device is entirely free of roaming charges in India.
For unlimited prepaid usage the plan starts at Rs. 650 per month and Rs. 730 for the same period for the postpaid customers. The plans may vary region by region. Refer to the official source for more information.
