The upgraded internet speeds for the Photon Max Wi-Fi data cards will be currently available only in three cities in India – Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. However, these will not be the only three cities.
The Tata Photon Max Wi-Fi fast downloads will be made available to eight more cities in India over the next few days. However, no specific time frame or the names of the cities were mentioned.
The company upgraded its network with Rev. B Phase II technology that has been giving speeds of around 9.8Mbps. Currently the customers are getting download speeds of 6.2Mbps.
According to the statement by the company, the existing users of the service can routinely get access to higher data speeds even with their current Photon Max Wi-Fi gadgets.
The best part of the service is that it allows the consumers to create a personal Wi-Fi zone. Apart from this, it can connect to as many as five different devices at the same time, bringing out more juice from the Tata Photon Max Wi-Fi fast downloads service.
No roaming charges
The company has also given a reason for the customers to smile. Users using this service will now be able to use it entire free even when roaming. Therefore, there will be no extra charges on roaming.
It is still unclear if both prepaid and postpaid users will come under the same umbrella. But, one thing is certain that all customers, irrespective of their plans can benefit from the new ruling.
“Photon Max Wi-Fi is already redefining the way customers access Internet data across multiple devices at home and offices and this will further enhance their data experience” said Gurinder Singh Sandhu, who is the head of marketing for Mobility Tata Teleservices.
With Tata Photon Max Wi-Fi fast downloads entering the market, other companies will also have to become more competitive now.
