In a virtual Diwali gift to its users, Vodafone has cut down on 2G and 3G the data prices by as much as 80% all over India. The company broke the news on Thursday. The new prices will come into effect from November 1.
It is the second cut in prices for the company in five months. Earlier in June, Vodafone had slashed the prices from 10 paisa for every 10 KB to just 2 paisa per KB. The circles that benefited from this change was Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka.
Speaking more about the change in rates, Vodafone said that the cut in prices in June was a pilot project for the company. And now after implementing the same successfully, the reduced and revised internet charges will be applicable for the entire nation.
The new rates will be in force on the 2G services that include both post-paid and pre-paid consumers on “Pay as you Go basis”. To top it all, even the same rates will be applicable irrespective if the individual is in roaming.
Vodafone made it clear that the customer will only be charged according to home rates, even if the individual is roaming anywhere in India. So that should bring in a lot of relief to the customers as they won’t need to pay anything extra, especially the roaming charges.
Vodafone is taking efforts for educating the retailers as well as towards to build content partnerships. Vodafone will also be offering the option to customers that will be based on their liking and interests.
