The much-talked of Windows 8.1 update is now available and that too with fresh and brand new changes. The Windows 8.1 update available, not really quite a year later, has been introduced with lesser fanfare and drama.
For those who experienced the Windows 8 and know what it is, the change from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 will be meaningful and worthwhile. There was a lot of criticism when the Windows 8 OS was launched and Microsoft was at the receiving end. There were more brickbats than flowers.
The Windows 8.1 update hasn’t still taken them to any secure place. Litmus test still awaits the software giant and the response and the feedback they get will answer a lot of questions. It is expected that the drawbacks experienced in Windows 8 will be addressed in the update. However, it remains to be seen to what level the bugs are fixed.
The outcome of the update will determine the chances of the company in the conventional Personal Computer and tablet business.
The updates will be available on Windows Store from 7am ET on Thursday. The global roll out will materialize in the ensuing 24 hours. On Friday, the 8.1 update will be on hand for new devices as well as on standalone retail packing.
