It’s been a while since rumors started making the rounds regarding the Xiaomi Redmi 5. And now the company has officially announced the new phone. Unveiled in China, the phone has been announced for India and will be available from March 20th. The Redmi 5 is a phone packed with features as we talked earlier. The phone features a 5.7-inch display, and also as an HD resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. The Snapdragon 450 SoC powers the phone.
The device comes pre-installed with Android Nougat 7.1.2 with an MIUI 9 layer. And here are the pros and cons of the Redmi 5 for you. When coming to the camera, the rear camera is 12MP while the front facing is 5MP. Other features include a fingerprint sensor that is below the camera on the rear and a 3300mAH battery that runs the phone.
Other specifications also include various internal storage space of 16/32/64GB, with an optional expandable storage option via MicroSD. The phone will also be sporting a dual sim option. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be available in an array of colors including Lake Blue, Rose Gold and also other gold variants. The standard variant of the Redmi 5 costs INR 8,999. This will feature 3GB RAM and coupled with 32GB of storage. The flagship model will cost INR 10,999 and will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.
