It was only last year, in the month of July, that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro was launched. It was the first Xiaomi smartphone with a dual camera with a body that was made of brushed metal and display was OLED. Now, there are rumours of a new Xiaomi smartphone; the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2. There are a range of Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 specs leaks, let’s see what that has to say about the new model.
Although the information cannot be authenticated, there may be something in it. This Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 specs leak suggests that the high-end version of the new smartphone will come with a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space. The low-end version will come with a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 specs leak also says that the new model will have a Sony IMX362, 12MP rear sensor and a big 4,500mAh battery. A 1/2.55” sensor with 1.4µm pixels and Dual Pixel autofocus sets it apart from its predecessor. The battery is much larger and a larger display. The bezels at either side of the display are ultra-slim.
The information posted on Weibo, the Chinese blogging website claims that there will be no dual cameras. The earlier model had a dual camera, but Xiaomi is not desirous of including one in the new model. On the contrary, it will have a single, improved camera. There is also speculation about which chipset is going to be used in the new model. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 specs leak also suggests that the new model will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. The Redmi Pro had a Helio X25 SoC processor. The display size will probably be bumped up from 5.5 inches. The processor and the battery seem to be the forte of the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2. How much of this is true, remains to be seen.
