Struggling for its existence, BlackBerry has announced a price cut of Rs. 13,500 for its Z10 device. This is a 31 per cent dip in the price and the gadget will now cost Rs. 29,990. However, this is only a limited period offer considering the festive season that’s round the corner in India.
Launched in the month of January, the device was available for Rs. 43,490, while it was being retailed for Rs. 30,000 on some online e-com stores. The statement from the company said that they will be making this limited period offer for the festive season.
“Customers can now purchase BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone at just Rs 29,990”, the statement read. The statement further said that this will help the brand in reaching out to more (people).
However, this is not the first time that BlackBerry had made efforts to increase the sales of their devices. Earlier, the company had offered EMI scheme for boosting the sales of Z10 as well as for BlackBerry Curve 9220. The company had come up with BlackBerry Q5 in India for Rs. 24,990.
And it is not the first time for BlackBerry to slash the prices of their devices either. In the month of March last year, BB had brought down prices of their products by more than 25 per cent. PlayBook was also made cheaper by almost half the cost for 64GB variant, which then carried a price tag of Rs. 24,490.
