Moto G just recently made its debut in India and the handset was available on the online shopping site Flipkart. The e-com site received a warm response for the handset and keeping that in mind, Flipkart is hoping for a long-term association Motorola deal post Moto G success.
Moto G was launched in India on February 6 through Flipkart. There has been unprecedented and unexpected response for the handset as the rush for online shopping was tremendous. Within 15 minutes flat the 16GB version was even sold out.
The co-founder and CEO Sachin Bansal of Flipkart, also expressed his views on the response their web site got. He said that they were surprised by the warn reaction of the consumers. He added that there was an incredible amount of flow of customers on the e-com site.
Speaking about the traffic, Sachin Bansal added that the rush was greater even than the one observed during the Diwali festival and so much so that the site also went down for two minutes or so.
The price of the 16GB version of the Moto G in India is Rs. 13,999, while the 8GB Moto G version costs Rs. 12,499. The 16GB version was totally sold off, while a few units of the other variant were left. Around 20,000 units of the Motorola product were sold on February 6.
With the success of Moto G, Flikart has expressed confidence in taking the association of the two companies forward. Flipkart has expressed confidence that the Moto G will play an important part in taking the online business forward.
