Google turns 15 years old today; Happy Birthday Google

The web giant Google has turned 15 years old today and it’s time to say ‘Happy Birthday Google’. It was on this day in 1998 that Sergey Brin and Larry Page had established the company Google.

These two had met at a university three years before and since then the slow but steady birth of Google had started to materialize. Brin and Page had first decided to name the company BackRub. However, it was later that the two settled on Google.

Today, Google has become so popular especially as a search engine that the term itself is being used as a verb. No wonder if dictionaries explain “Google” as “Search”.Google Glass

Google started in a garage literally but now has grown to be the leading web company in the world. Today it is so influential that, the entire internet can swing to the tunes of Google. Google has 70 odd offices spread over 40 locations all over the world. The headquarters of Google are known as Googleplex in Mountain View, California.

The web giant had a fairy tale beginning as they had more than three billion web documents on their index by the end of 2001.
Innovations followed and a number of products and services were launched and there was no looking back for Google ever since. The Google Earth and Google Maps are some of their best and popular services today.

Google Glass is the latest offering from Google. It is a wearable device that offers hands-free voice-activated connectivity. However, this move of having the latest device was opposed a while back and was even potentially facing a ban. But one never knows how and when Google gets back.

This 15-year-old teenage guy will soon turn adolescent and keep dishing out beautiful stories in life.
