Huawei has revealed plans for introducing the next Smartphone – the Ascend P6S. It is being rumored that the Smartphone will be powered by an octa-core chipset.
As per GizChina, the information about P6S was brought out by the President of the company, Xu Xin Quan. According to the President, the P6S, which is the successor to the Ascend P6, will see the light of the day along with the updated version of K3V2 processor, which is the in-house processor from the company.
The Smartphone will be built with the octa-core processing power to support faster execution. That’s not all in the report. The report further speaks of the ocat-core possessor coming with an integrated 3G support and will also be tweaked to have an extended battery life.
Currently, about the P6S the information on the chipset is all that we know. There isn’t any more information available at the moment. There weren’t even any details available on the release or the availability of the Smartphone.
However, things should get rolling quickly as MediaTek and Samsung have by now launched the octa-core processors MT6592 and Exynos 5 Octa chips respectively.
Apart from the Ascend P6S, the Chinese handset manufacturer has also a word on the Ascend P6. The device launched before will now get the Android 4.4 KitKat by the start of the next year. According to Android SAS, Huawei will leap over the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version and directly go to the Android 4.4 KitKat update. There will also be an updated Emotion UI skin.
The update that is expected to be rolled out in January next year, will make the Ascend P6 the first Smartphone for Huawei to have the KitKat update. However, the company doesn’t have any plans as of now to have the Android 4.4 update for other Android devices.
