The new iPads are expected to have updates on 22 October. However, there is no word from Apple as it remains silent on the issue. The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple has confirmed the event for the date in question.
The company will be organizing an event for launching the next generation of the iPad as well as iPad Mini devices. It is expected that Apple will be holding an event that will be invitation-only event. At the event, Apple will launch updates to iPads, OSX Mavericks and Mac Pro..
What’s expected of iPad 5?
The next generation of the iPad 5 may be much thinner and lighter than the present generation of full-sized iPads. The bezels as well as the body are expected to be thinner to give it an industrial and professional look of the iPad Mini. The device may run the 64-bit A7 chip by Apple. It could also incorporate the Touch ID Fingerprint sensor that was brought in the iPhone 5last month.
There could also be an update for the iPad Mini with upgrading of internal parts as well as high resolution display. However, things are unclear whether the device has incorporated the Retina display.
Apple is also very likely to pronounce the release of OSX Mavericks, which is latest version of the company’s desktop software. A date is also likely to be fixed for releasing the new Mac Pro. If the update rolls out successfully, it will be the first since June last year.
As usual, Apple has chosen to remain silent, be it anything regarding the news of the even or the iPads. The current version of the iPad comes with 9.7-inch high-resolution display and is built with A6X dual-core chip from Apple. The iPad Mini has 7.9-inch low-resolution screen with A5 dual-core processor. The bigger device weighs 652 g, while the smaller one weighs 308 g.
