KXIP vs RCB: RCB Record Their First Win in IPL 2019

In a thrilling KXIP vs RCB IPL 2019 match, the Bangalore team beat the Kings XI Punjab to register their first win, with Virat Kohli and AB coming to the party.

Finally, is what we can say, finally, in the KXIP vs RCB match played at Mohali, the Bangalore team registered their first win in the 2019 IPL. It’s been a special win and was definitely on the cards.

Batting first, the riding on the 64-ball 99 from Chris Gayle, the KXIP scored a decent 173/4 in their stipulated 20 overs. How much the KXIP depended on Gayle this time around is evident from the fact that after Gayle’s 99, the second highest score is 18 from K L Rahul and Mandeep Singh.

Bangalore needed 175 runs to win the KXIP vs RCB match, and more importantly to salvage some pride. RCB began the chase with flying colors.

In just 3.5 overs, the RCB had posted 43 runs for the opening wicket. Parthiv Patel was the more aggressive of the two scoring 19 runs in 9 balls. 16 of these runs came in the form of 4 boundaries that he hit.

And after this point is where the two legendary batsmen came together – Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. The two put on a defining 85 runs for the second wicket in 11.4 overs. Kohli slammed 67 runs off 53 balls with 8 boundaries. ABD scored 59 runs off just 38 balls that included 5 hits to the fence and 2 over it.

After the fall of Kohli at a crucial stage of the match, M P Stoinis joined AB de Villiers. Actually, it was Stoinis who hit the winning runs for RCB. He hammered 28 runs off 16 balls with 4 fours.
