Lenovo launches Yoga Tablet 8 and Yoga Tablet 10 in India

Lenovo has launched two Yoga tablets – the Yoga Tablet 8 and the Yoga Tablet 10 for the Indian market. The price of the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8 16GB Wi-Fi 3G is Rs. 22,999 and the price of the Yoga Tablet 10 16GB Wi-Fi 3G is Rs. 28,999.

The tablets launched by Lenovo are Android tablets. The “8” and “10” in the names suggest the screen size of the tabs. The variants introduced currently are 16GB, Wi-Fi 3G only. However, the 32GB Wi-Fi only variants won’t see the light of the day in India so soon. The tabs will be available for purchase from all the major retailers in India and also from Lenovo’s own store.

It was in October that the Lenovo Yoga tabs were unveiled in the United States. Both devices feature the multimode design from Lenovo. There are three options to choose from, namely hold, tilt and stand. The cylindrical handles make it easier to grip the tab.Lenovo Yoga Tablets

The pre-booking of both tablets is available from the official web site of the company. The shipping date is understood to be November 25. To promote the gadgets, the company is offering free accessories bundled with the tablets. The free accessories are worth Rs. 4000 on the purchase of the Yoga Tablet 8 and Rs. 5000 for the Yoga Tablet 10.

A protective film, an earphone and a sleeve cover are the accessories Lenovo is offering. However, the company has made it clear that the free offering will be only until November 24.

The OS used in both tabs is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The designs as well as the sizes are also the same except for the difference in the display. Both tabs have a resolution of 1280 X 800 pixels. Another difference is in the voice calling facility that is available only in the smaller gadget. Both tablets run on quad-core 1.2GHz MediaTek MT8389 – Cortex-A7 – processor along with 1GB of LP DDR2 RAM.

Micro-SIM support is available for both tablets. The built-in storage is 16GB that can be pushed up to 64GB via MicroSD card. The Yoga tablet 8 and tablet 10 come with two cameras. The rear camera is 5MP with autofocus. The front cameras are 1.6MP capacity.

Due to the screen sizes there is obvious difference in the battery power. The Yoga tablet 8 has 6000mAh battery, while the Yoga tablet 10 has 9000mAh batter support.
