The next Microsoft CEO: Indian-American Satya Nadella

The post of the next Microsoft CEO could be possibly donned by the Indian-American Satya Nadella who will replace Steve Ballmer. Satya Nadella comes from India, Hyderabad to be specific. He joined Microsoft in the year 1992 and before joining the US-based company, he worked with the Sun Microsystems.

Microsoft has been searching for a new Chief Executive Officer for almost half a year now. And the search for their third CEO of the company might come to an end in the form of Satya Nadella.

He was promoted to look after the Cloud and Enterprise arm of Microsoft in the month of July in 2013. And it must be mentioned that Satya Nadella has been one of the hot candidates to run for the top job at Microsoft.

Things inside the company are increasing shifting their base to Satya Nadella and it looks like a formality to announce the Indian-American as the next CEO of the company. The reason for this is the search for the CEO to be amongst those who are familiar with the company rather than finding anyone from outside.

That is not all. The company board is also contemplating replacing Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft as the chairman. This will indeed be an historic move if things get going. If the reports are to be believed, it will be the independent director of Microsoft, John Thompson.

Nadella had been the president of Microsoft’s Server and Tools Business that is tagged to be around $19 billion.
