The festive season is finally here! Everybody knows what that means, right? It means that, the time for big sales and lots of shopping has officially begun. With Dussehra and Diwali just around the corner, all the regular as well as, major e-commerce stores are gearing up for their festive sales. Myntra, the largest fashion e-commerce company, especially, is all set to wow its guests with some amazing deals and discounts on major brands, this year. It is participating in the Big Billion Days sale, which is hosted by its parent company, Flipkart; and is claiming to leave a big mark on the e-commerce industry through this sale. Myntra Big Billion Days sale will start at midnight, today and will go on till 6th of October, 2016. This 5-days sale is the third edition of the Big Billion Days series, hosted by Flipkart. This is Myntra’s second time participating as a member. Through this sale, it aims at making it big in the e-commerce zone by not just increasing the number of customers but raising the sales,like never before. It has set the target at 2.5 Lakh customers and expects the daily sales to increase by 5-times.

As Myntra CEO Ananth Narayanan puts it in his own words; “This is the second year that we will be part of Big Billion Days (BBD). We expect 5x sales during BBD, scheduled to be held on October 2-6. With brands offering discounts of up to 70 per cent, we will have 2.5 lakh styles and designs for shoppers.” Though the End Of Reason Sale is their key flagship event, Myntra believes that the Big Billion Days sale by Flipkart, can help them bring in new consumers and reach the 2.5 Lakh mark, due to its huge popularity.

Myntra hopes to achieve its set goal by offering huge discounts (upto 70%), on popular fashion brands like Roadster, HRX, Dressberry, Anouk, Alcott, Forever 21, Marks & Spencer and French Connection, and others. Since, it has the record of successfully accomplishing around two lakh deliveries per day, Myntra is pretty confident that it can easily attain its set target. With the Myntra Big Billion Days sale, the company also expects to reach the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of $1billion in the current financial year; which was otherwise restricted to $500 million, in the previous year.

Myntra is excluding Jabong (which it had acquired for $70 million in July, from Global Fashion Group), from participating in the sale. It hopes to successfully achieve its goal and establish its position in the e-commerce industry, without its rival company’s help. This is indeed a strong claim coming from a company, which was itself taken over by Flipkart in 2014.

Myntra Big Billion Days sale has raised high expectations among the company’s officials. It has already created a sense of excitement among consumers. With the amazing deals and heavy discounts in store, all that’s left to see is whether it will fulfil the expectations of its customers as well,or not?
