PayPal closes its Amazon, BB and Windows Phone app. The reason isn’t specifically pointed out though. We hope there’re some concrete developments.
PayPal Closes Apps from Three Platforms
The news doing the rounds today is that PayPal closes its Amazon, BB and Windows Phone app come June 30. So, if you are a user of this service, you may soon get a notice from the PayPal soon regarding the decision. It’s about updating your application to version 6, else it may stop working. But this notification may come only for the Android as well as iOS operating systems. Others might not receive such update options, because now they are being removed from the list of PayPal itself from June 30.
PayPal is removing its working from the various platforms such as Windows, Android Fire and BlackBerry. Though the reasons are not yet confirmed, but Joanna Lambert, the VP of PayPal says that everything is being done for the improvement of PayPal services.
“It was a difficult decision to no longer support the PayPal app on these mobile platforms, but we believe it’s the right thing to ensure we are investing our resources in creating the very best experiences for our customers. We remain committed to partnering with mobile device providers, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers.”
The only thing that has been notified is that people can still use the mobile websites to access the PayPal account for varied services. Also users can send P2P money from their BBM phone through their inbox and outbox.
Of course it was a difficult decision to remove PayPal from such platforms but finally it is made and it has been by now announced also. But now it has to be seen that whether PayPal is serious about the update and changes or will come up with some other twists or news by the end of June.
