The Google Nexus 7 has already been announced and the refreshed version of Nexus 7 tab for sale in the US on Google Play. Yes, the refreshed version is only in the United States currently. However, there was a surprise in store for Google.
The tab was to be originally launched on July 30 in the United States. However, the plans had to be changed for Google after the Best Buy started taking the pre-orders for the device.
According to TNW report, retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and Gamestop have already started selling the device ahead of the schedule. However, other retailers like RadioShack and OfficeMax haven’t yet started selling the tab. It looks like they will start on the scheduled date only.
As compared to the older tab, the new one is about 50 g lighter and 2 mm thinner. T
here has been a development in the display as well. The Nexus 7 will have a resolution of 1920 X 1200 pixels and will have a pixel density of 323 PPI. The touch IPS panel is scratch resistant as well as fingerprint smudge resistant.
Google has also officially declared that the refreshed tab will soon be traveling to India. On the website of the company, the tab is listed under the “Coming Soon” category. However, there are no more details available about the device.
However, the page about Nexus 7 does allow the users to sign up for the newsletter that will inform them about the updates.
The tab comes with a 5MP rear camera and a front facing camera with 1.2MP capacity. There is also support for dual-band Wi-Fi capability, Bluetooth 4.0 as well as NFC. The tab has 3950mAh of battery that can last almost up to 9 hours.
There are 16GB and 32GB Wi-Fi variants, which will cost around Rs. 13,500 and Rs. 16,000 respectively.
