Samsung has cut down on the Galaxy Gear Smartwatch price. The price of the Galaxy Gear Smartwatch in India now is Rs. 14,990. The Galaxy Gear Smartwatch happens to be the first wearable gadget from Samsung. The new slashed price will come into effect from this week itself.
The device launched in India in the month of September last year. The price of the gadget then was Rs. 22,990. It can be recalled that Samsung had launched this device along with the Galaxy Note 3 at the IFA last year.
The Smartwatch comes with a screen size of 1.63 inches (which is around 4.14 cms approx) and is an OLED display. There are various features of the device and the prominent of them are making calls, displaying the messages as well as images. The wearable device has a 1.9MP camera.
There is another feature of the device – the S Voice. The S Voice worked with only two devices when it was launched – the Galaxy Note 10.1 of this year’s edition and with Galaxy Note 3.
There were as many as 70 apps that were included in the device at the time of the launch. There were also fitness apps and the one that was included was the step-counting passometer. One of the challenges for such wearable devices happens to be the battery issues. Samsung claims that this particular device will lend a support of around 27 hours when used normally.
Samsung had claimed that they had sold in excess of 800,000 units since the launch of the device. The statement had come in response to reports that the sales of the wearable device were not very encouraging.
