Samsung will be launching Smartphones that will carry a price of less than Rs. 15,000. The Smartphones are expected to be launched in this month – September itself. Samsung is in all readiness to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, its high-end Smartphone on 17th – Tuesday.
The introduction of these two Smartphones will deepen the competition in the market for the mid-segment mobile category. The South Korean company already enjoys almost 49% of market share in India and the introduction of these two new mobiles will make their grip even stronger.
To make it possible, Samsung will be offering Smartphones in the local languages as well. This is done with a view to attracting consumers from the non-English segment. “Every phone from Samsung will have nine vernacular language options,” said Vineet Taneja, who is the Samsung Country Head (Mobile Business).
The Samsung phones will give access to nine languages like Punjabi, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati and Malayalam. Samsung has a range of almost 17 Smartphones that are priced between Rs. 5000 and Rs. 39,000.
According to one company official, the price tag of the phones could be in the range of Rs. 5000 to Rs. 15,000. Most of such Smartphones are sold in this range in India and that’s why the competition could intensify.
The phones that include in this price range include BlackBerry Curve, Nokia Lumia 520 and Nokia Lumia 620, Micromax Canvas 2 and Xolo Smartphone.
